If you want to be disrespected, lied to, overcharged on purpose, and have items in your car stolen than this place is rated 5 starss. "CJ" worked the front desk. First words out of her mouth was a rude disrespecfful assumtion on me. CJ then told me and two other of my family members each a different story on when and who could come pick up our items from the car. A police officer spoke with me on general info and stated who was allowed to enter. He also called Dons telling them who could enter. she disregardrd the officers words telling us who could go or not The title of the car was in the car. She lied and said it wasnt there and we would need a replacement. Then before we could get all of our wanted items, several items were no longer in the car . She then overcharged us $500. CJ and the company in general needs to be charged and taken to court on some things. Other people we know have also told us how terrible CJ is and they have also had items stolen.

Good afternoon Onyx Sorry you have had this experience your vehicle was impounded in our lot due to drugs. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing what is in a vehicle before and after If your drugs were taken out of the vehicle and that was what your were looking for I am sorry. Our staff has standardized procedures when handling vehicles making sure you are the owner of that vehicle. And unfortunately the vehicle was titled under your mother. This is not our fault. Very Negative experience due to rude treatment by the current Owner along with dishonest and unethical business practices. Unfortunately our vehicle was hit on Friday 9/16 around 12:15pm. The other driver was at fault and thankfully all were ok. The police were called and they called Don's towing. My husband informed all that we do have AAA. He provided the tow truck driver with all of our contact information and requested that our vehicle be taken to the auto shop that we normally use for service. The tow truck driver was even familiar with the shop and knew someone who worked there. This al occurred around mid day and the vehicle was towed no later than 1pm or so. We received a call on Monday morning from the shop owner, we assumed to talk about his assessment of the damage etc.- only to have him tell us that our vehicle was no there. I immediately called Don's Towing and spoke with Amanda. I was polite and explained our confusion and inquired as to where our vehicle was. Amanda was extremely rude and said that it was likely not taken to that shop because the shop doesn't have a charge account set up with them and therefore no one was able to pay to release the vehicle. She then proceeded to tel me that we owed for the towing AND for the weekend of storage. When I asked why no one had called to tell us that our vehicle had not been delivered to the shop as their driver indicated it would be- she said the drivers do not always know that some shops don't have an account with them. when I asked why no one from their office contacted us when the vehicle was brought back to them- she first tried to say it was "after hours" on a Friday- when i explained again that the vehicle was towed aorund 1 pm in the afternoon and was unsure how that was "after hours"- she proceeded to cut me off multiple times saying she would investigate- "when I have a minute" and then hung up on me after calling me "Rachel" when i had given her my name multiple times and I assumed she was looking at out vehicle/contact information in front of her. We ended up having to have them tow our vehicle to another shop for repair work and they then charged that shop for the tow and storage fees- which will be passed on to us or to the other drivers' insurance to cover. The fact that we left our vehicle in the care of Don's Towing and were told by the driver it would be taken to the shop we indicated but then NEVER contacted by them -when the vehicle NEVER left Don's Towing's possession is dishonest and unethical. It was a way for them to make money a weekend's worth of storage when we as the owners were NEVER made aware that our vehicle was not turned over as we authorized it to be. If we had been made aware by Don's that the shop we indicated did not have an account and payment would be required to release - we would have easily been able to make appropriate arrangements. The extreme rudeness of Amanda was uncalled for and I can only assume the previous owner would be upset to know that a business carrying his name is represented by someone like that. If the storage costs are passed on to us, we will be taking the matter to small claims court as this was an unfair and very unethical business practice. We will not be using Don's Towing in the future and have spread the word about our negative experience. I hope the City of La Crosse reconsiders it's decision to continue to contract with Don's Towing due to these types of practices.

Dons Towing an Repair was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a tow truck company! I was in an accident because someone ran a stop sign, so my car was a total loss for someone else fault, and Dons Towing an Repair told me that if I didn't have the 380 dollars to get my car out that they get to keep it, "that's how this usually works" was her exact words!! Really sarcastic and mean!!! I eventually got a hold of the people's insurance company to get my personal belongings from my vehicle, but overall very rude, sarcastic, mean lady!!! And she is the owner!! So if there is any other option for you if you ever need a tow, use it!! I talked to 3 of my friends since, and they have all said the same, they share the same opinion as me!!!!!

William we are sorry to hear you were driving without Comp/full insurance coverage on your vehicle. and did not have the money to get your vehicle fixed or out of impound. This is not our fault as a company to provide you with coverage or compensation when you were in a difficult situation. Staff was very rude on the phone and told me I would have to come into the shop the next day for any information, nicer in person but would not recommend this business to anyone. Wouldn’t tell me how much I would get to scrap my car until after I signed the title then they told me I would get $0. Having already signed the title I could do nothing and left without complaining as the staff made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Wish I could give zero stars.

600$ for a tire swap, break bleed and tow. They said it took them 4 hours to complete this…. So if you like being ripped off this is the place for you!!! I wasn’t upset because I have the money but if you are on a budget I’d probably avoid this shop. Ohhh I forgot it also took three days for this job to get done. Terrible!

We were on a trip from Michigan back to our home in Minnesota and our vehicle died in a nearby parking lot late at night. They towed us within an hour and diagnosed our vehicle early the next morning. The fuel pump was replaced early afternoon (right after we’d filled the tank) and we were on our way before 2:30. Very friendly staff and excellent service!

I was in an accident the other day and had to have an emergency car extraction as I was stuck on the side of the highway with a totalled vehicle. Someone from Don's towing came out to pick me up. This is the first accident I have been in and I was shaken up from the accident so I didn't know that I was supposed to find somewhere to take my car once the driver picked me up so I was very shocked when he told me there was no place to leave my car without the chance of it being impounded. we circled around what to do and I felt like I had no options. He basically told me that there was no were he could leave it but he needs to get it off his truck, which makes sense as it was likely a busy morning for them. I was just shocked at how much he wasn't willing to work with me or help, we finally decided on leaving it outside of recycling center, dropping me off he told me that he can't take the car inside because i didn't have my cars tittle and that it could still be impounded on the side of the road cuz it's leaking fluids. I don't think he was trying to be rude but it was not a positive experience.

When nobody else seemed interested in giving me an ETA, Don's sent someone out IMMEDIATELY to jump-start my car. I was in a bad mood and the guy who got my car started also helped me find a better mood. What awesome service is that? If I could give more stars, I would.

We've been taking our cars to Don's for about 30 years. Always seemed fair in pricing and clear communication. Other places have sometimes tacked on extra items, but no surprises at Don's. Always ethical and fair. Would definitely recommend to anyone and we will continue to take our own cars to Don's.

My husband sold a car back in March on Marketplace. Apparently, the guy who bought it was not a good person. He never registered the car, left it in our name, and dumped the car on the side of the road. We received a bill from Don’s Towing for $1,635 and change. When I called and spoke to Amanda she was so patient and kind. We had just paid $2,000 to fix our own actual car and we did not have the money to pay this. She walked me through it, helped me with the problem at hand, and told us to call her anytime if we make a sale in the future. She also educated me on all the steps to take to seek a car so we don’t get out in this predicament again. Thank you Amanda and Don’s Towing for understanding and helping us through a very dark situation. You have gained a customer for life and I will share this story 1000 times over. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of a very grateful heart!
