Never know who your going to talk to, this company changes employees more often than underwear
Update: Regarding response below... I also left a 1-star review on your website, which unsurprisingly is not posted as your policy appears to be to only post 5-star reviews. I left some details in the personal notes of my review, and considering reviewers have to enter an email address in order to leave a review, you already have my contact info if you truly wished to reach out. So the canned response below is rather contrived.

Don't trust this place. I called about an oil leak. They replaced a MAP sensor and put on engine oil dye because they couldn't detect a leak. $443 later, I go to pick up my car and they said to bring it back in 100 miles so they can check on that leak. On my way home I had to call them because my dash said that I needed an oil change. I looked at my receipt and yeah, they noted that I was overdue for an oil change. Frustrated, I took my vehicle to Neenah where my parents take their cars. The guy working asked if my check engine light was on when I took it in. No, it wasn't. He asked if my car was running funny. No, it wasn't. There was ZERO reason for them to change the MAP sensor. The MAP sensor has nothing to do with an oil leak at all. The guys at the Neenah shop found the leak without using a UV light (which is why Ruffing put the dye on my car). I am so glad I followed my gut and took it somewhere else for a second opinion. Taking my car to Ruffing was a huge waste of my time and money. I find it very hard to believe they have this many good reviews.

We are always trying to improve, and in order to improve, we need to know when we do have an occasional failure. We really do strive to offer the best possible service. I read the notes on the work order, I read your review, and I interviewed staff. It’s apparent that there were some definite communication errors. The quality of communications in this instance was not up to our standards. There are more elements to our Oil Leak Troubleshooting than “just dumping in dye”, and although I expect those other significant steps may be what enabled the other shop to be able to identify the leak after your drive, we obviously didn’t communicate all of that to you well enough. Our communications about your needed Oil Change and your MAP Sensor should have been better as well. I know that your work schedule can make communication difficult. Can you give me a call at (920) 766-7889 and ask for Jeff. I’d love for you to be able to tell me more about this visit so we can continue to improve. I’d like to improve our service, and improve your experience if I can. If I’m not available when you call, please let my staff know good options for me to reach out to you.
We're really happy with the service we get with Ruffing Automotive and will be back when needed. I was explained about how things were proceeding during the work, what was needed and why. It was evident that they really wanted the best for me as a customer and the car as proof of their skills.
If you are looking for a family run business who truly care about their customers, it would be Ruffing Auto. Amy is very friendly and she informs you of any issues the technicians may run into and the waiting area is very clean. I also appreciate the follow up texts making sure everything was great.

Upon redeeming our coupon for a full service oil change priced at $44.95, we were surprised to find an additional $15 charge for labor. It seems misleading as a full service typically includes labor, or at the very least, the coupon should clarify that labor costs are not covered

Mar 24, 2024Hi Carley, I agree with you 100% That would be very misleading. I would have called you already to go over the invoice with you, but I don't have any entries in our Invoicing system with your name. Give a call to the shop and ask for Jeff, the owner. There are several different formats that our Invoices print out in, and one of them can be easily misread if you don't go to the last page. We don't charge any labor on top of the oil change price, but it does get spelled out separately in one area in the interests of transparency. Give me a call and we'll go over it together. I was in town visiting for Christmas. A problem arose with my car I wanted to have fixed before I drove home. Ruffing Automotive was recommended. They were able to get my car in, diagnose what was wrong and make the repairs. I was very happy with the customer service I received and the work that was done. I will be moving to the Appleton area in the near future and plan to use Ruffing for any repairs and all normal maintenance of my car.

I’ve been there twice now for an oil change. I found them on google with high ratings so I gave them a try. I will not be going anywhere else, they are so kind and knowledgeable. Their waiting room is very nice, they have snacks, drinks, coffee and WiFi. The people at the counter are just so nice and make me feel very welcome. Going into an auto shop can be nerve wracking but they make me feel very comfortable. They come and give me updates on where they’re at with my car and give me a run down on my car as well. They even wiped off and vacuumed the front of my car, and left goodie bags on my steering wheel. I highly recommend them.
