Hi Kristin - thank you for your updated review. We’re sorry to hear you felt we didn’t meet your expectations on your most recent visit to Bob & Sons Automotive with your Chrysler. When our automotive technician test drove the car to pinpoint the vehicle’s issue you felt was a loud scratching noise, we found 14 different recommendations - all given during our courtesy check with ZERO pressure to purchase including the diagnostic cause of the sound. When we were able to put it on the lift we discovered the left rear backing plate was rubbing on the rotor causing a scraping sound and the right rear outer brake pad was worn down to approximately 4/32 (which is why we advised of a replacement), as well as abnormally low compared to the others. This is usually an indication of a possible sticking pad and can cause extra heat, friction and squeaks. With all this said, we really pride ourselves on our ability to diagnose issues and not mask them so our customers are driving safe. We understand our prices are comparable to other shops in the area while getting the bonus of ASE Certified Automotive Technicians, a skilled labor force and top of the line diagnostic equipment. Hi Jason - great to meet you, I didn’t catch your name when you called us screaming yesterday about your daughter’s Highlander. I know you had mentioned you are a mechanic so we hope you were able to get a chance to review the estimate which wasn’t for just “rear brakes.” Our estimate we provided to her that was approved, with parts ordered and work begun - included diagnostic, wheel bearings, rear disc and pad replacement as well as checking the brake calipers while disassembled (only able to be done while everything is disassembled and absolutely recommended for a Highlander with almost 180,000 miles on it). We STRONGLY SUGGESTED the vehicle not leave from our location while someone drives it for the safety of themselves or others. In extreme cases like this Bob & Sons Automotive recommends towing it if unrepaired because it is an absolute hazard on the road, and we’re shocked that it was driven here without anyone getting hurt. We hope Ryleigh is OK! With all this said, we really pride ourselves on our ability to diagnose issues and not mask them so our customers are driving safe.
