I made an appointment to put in my snow tires here, as they did my tires the year before. I got there at 8 am and went in to drop off my keys. The woman at the reception asked if I had the key for my wheels, I told her I don’t know what you mean so she went outside looked at my tires and said I need the key to change it. I guess VWs have a special key. I told her I was there last year and no one mentioned any keys and there was no problems. She continued to say that she needed the key. So I started looking for it, even though I had no idea of what it looked like. She went back inside and offered no help even though I told her I don’t know what I am looking for. Worst service ever. I spent over $1000 last year between inspections and tires, only to be treated like this. Neither less to say, I put the tires back in my care, called John & Son’s and they took my car with no problems! He said he would look for the key, and most likely is in the trunk. Rets assure I will not be back here for anything! I hear the owner is nice but they should not have such a rude employee working in the front. Response to the owner - your reasons are all fine to as why you need the key, it doesn’t excuse the type of service provided. And it turns out my car doesn’t even need to special key, they are plastic covers on it. I’m so glad Paul from John & Son actually took the time to help me and explain to me. 1 hr and the service was done, with a smile and a thank you. Happy and safe 2024!

Hi Lana - this is a bummer to hear about your experience. Many vehicles have keys or locks to wheels that are a necessary tool in order to remove the wheels. Many people choose to store this tool in their trunk, glove compartment, center console, unique storage compartments or even safely at home. We ask for this tool for services such as a tire swap for a few reasons - unfortunately over the summer we had an incident where the safety of our automotive technician was compromised because of drug paraphernalia stored in a spot generally used for said tool. We’ve taken the approach that asking for the tool for the service helps the customer know where the tool is should they ever need it in case of an emergency or for general automotive care, it allows the customer to maintain personal space in their vehicle, it eliminates time/money towards labor hours searching for a tool necessary for the service the customer has agreed to (such as emptying full glove compartments or trunks to access storage spaces), and it eliminates delays in the vehicle being serviced because we know the tool is present for the job at hand. Went in for only an oil change and was charged over 200. This happened last year.

They helped me a lot when I was trying to get my car inspected after moving here from TX. The state regulations are very different and they helped get my car to passing standards. Will be going back to them for all services on my car!

Couldn’t ask for anything better. I was supposed to get on the road to drive to Florida but had an oil leak. Erica was so knowledgeable and helpful she got me right in. They got the parts and fixed it the same day. Would recommend to anyone.

I’m disabled and my daughter just had a baby . Her car was running rough so we brought it in to bobs & son auto which said it needed around $2,000 worth of work. After paying & driving it off the lot it still ran rough. She brought to another shop that said the transmission is going that’s why it is running rough so we spent all that money to fix something that wasn’t broke. She now has a newborn with no car and I’m on disability and broke now. Be careful where you bring your car for repairs

Dennis - if this is in regards to the 2019 Nissan Versa that was towed into our shop that we serviced in February 2023 - I’d hope for you to give us a call so we could have helped rather than bringing it to another shop. It didn’t allow us to rectify any issues if we were involved with the transmission repair. We’ve read the report and pictures of the visit which stated the vehicle was towed in because your daughter expressed “all the dash lights came on and the car was inoperable / losing power, driving rough and wouldn’t go over 20MPH.” We had never seen nor serviced this vehicle prior to this visit (or after), and it already had 80,000 miles on it with little to no services or maintenance done up until that date. We replaced the battery, spark plugs, OE Sensors, ignition coils amongst other things and none of which were transmission related. To hear from you six months later via a poor Google rating seems a bit harsh - especially when we provided a free loaner vehicle for your daughter and after hours pick up to make it as convenient as possible for her to be without a car while at our shop. We both understand that the repairs needed six months ago were indeed necessary, otherwise it would have still been inoperable.
