Hello Everyone, This was my first home buying experience, and I must say, it was much less stressful and time consuming than I expected. This is primarily due to the fact that I worked with Chris Howard! I am in the US Army and stationed in San Diego. I found out that I would be moving to the Ft Knox area and was fortunate enough to be referred to Chris by one of my colleagues. Considering most of our interactions were virtual, you would expect to loose the "personal touch" during the home buying experience. I am here to tell you that is not Chris Howard. Chris always made an effort to understand the needs of me and my family and was available at any time that was convenient for us (even with a 3 hour difference). As you can imagine, there are quite a few papers to sign when negotiating the purchase of a home. Chris was great about communicating what those forms were and preparing them for my signature. Additionally, with most of our interactions being virtual, these signing sessions would be virtual as well. The documents would come to my email with a secure link and signing them virtually was very simple. No need to print, rescan and email. This was very beneficial for me, considering it is not always easy for me to find myself sitting down at a computer to focus on these types of things. I was able to do most of this process right from my phone and on the go. When buying a home, there are a few inspections, insurance and potential repairs that will require support/service from other businesses/contractors. Chris was a phenomenal liaison between me and these companies and always knew who we needed to deal with to get the job done. This removed much of the stress of moving to a new area and getting established. He has built a wonderful network and always seems to know the right company/people to work with the get the job done. Finally, during our final walkthroughs of the house and the closing process, Chris facilitated a completely virtual experience for me that is not required. I had a friend with a power of attorney there to physically sign the closing docs but Chris went a step further and set me up on Zoom so I could witness the whole session.
