Joel went out of his way to help start my car after the battery died on it a little ways from his shop. I drove it around for a while and brought it back to him to see if it would start after I shut my car off. It worked and I was sent on my way. He was so nice and upbeat during the whole thing and put me at ease. I would 100% go to him again.

Joel is knowledgeable, honest, and affordable. I trust him with my car. I can't, however, say the same about some of the guys he has working for him. A lot of them seem to "shoot from the hip" on their repairs. I wish I could count the times I've received my car back from his shop only to find that something else was now wrong and had to take it back. You'd think they'd notice this stuff on the test drive, but no. Case in point, my brakes failed on the highway the very day after I got my car back from Joel's shop. I strongly suspect that no one followed the procedure to trigger the self-adjustment mechanism on the shoes, which caused drag and boiled my brake fluid. I'm lucky I didn't hit anyone. In all, Joel's shop is fine for easy, run-of-the-mill repairs. For anything complex or involving deeply interconnected systems, take it to the dealership.

I stopped by to see if they could help with replacing one of my front directional lights on my 2020 Nissan Rogue. I had previously bought a new lightbulb because I attempted to replace it myself, but the socket was a little too out of reach/too buried into the car for me to get at. Although I had searched my car on AutoZone's website to find the right lightbulb, the lightbulb I bought was still incompatible. Joel and Andy kindly explained why the one I had bought and brought with me was not the right one (1 filament vs 2 filaments). While looking under the hood together, Joel found some mice gnaw marks and droppings, so they gave me "Fresh Cab" mice repellent to put under my hood at no additional cost! Total cost for the correct lightbulb and labor only came out to $20. I would 100% recommend Joel's auto shop--very genuine, kind, and helpful owner and workers!

Love working with Joel. What mechanics used to be. Super honest and helpful. Take all our cars to him rather than the dealership now.

Joel let me bring in my car when they had a full schedule and got under my car to check on the rattling. We then scheduling an appointment for the next week and he worked with my schedule on when I needed my car. Really appreciate his honest service!

Joel and his mechanic’s are Great A+++. Finding a mechanic Shop that is honest, trustworthy, smart, friendly and upfront is Awesome. They went above and beyond on a busy day to fix the issue with the car. Thought it was going to be something major and was a minor issue that saved us time and money. Joel’s Auto is the place to go in Eau Claire. Great service. Highly recommend them to anyone.

OVERPRICED. I was charged $95.63 for a simple synthetic blend oil change & tire rotation for a 2009 Honda Accord. I decided to give this local joint a shot after seeing so many “raving” reviews and was charged double what Chilson will do it for. Thanks but no thanks, guys. If I was told the cost upfront, I would not have left my car there. Not to mention I was told to just “bring it in when you have an hour of time.” I picked up my car 3 hours later. They have a weird system where you just fill out a form and leave your keys at an empty desk so you just don’t know when or if they will service your vehicle. I dropped my car off at 11:40 AM and watched them drive the car into the shop at 2:00 PM. It was just 2:36 PM when I received a text saying it was ready. Avoid this place if you’re looking for regular maintenance service because I guarantee you’ll find better service literally anywhere else.

Just moved to the neighborhood and we ran over a screw, tire was holding air but we wanted to make sure the tire wasn’t damaged, Called Joel and he checked out everything, no damage, and we were on our way. We have found our new mechanic…Thanks for welcoming us to the neighborhood Joel!
