Jessie McNair, was a great mechanic. He passed away. His daughter, Maria Powell, is a thief. She kept my vehicle in her shop for three months and made it nearly impossible to contact her and the mechanic, Charley, to get my truck out of the shop. By the time I threatened to seek an attorney to get my truck out of her shop, my 2003 truck was destroyed. I drove it there in excellent condition just to have some upgrades done on it. I had to have it towed away. That was $7,000 gone, plus Maria Powell stole $6,991 in cash from me on top of that. She took my money and ran. I'll see her in court. By delaying installing upgrades on my truck and keeping it trapped in her shop, and by ignoring my calls and texts, that bought her time to keep me waiting while she began vacating the shop to shut it down, while she secretly plotted to run off with $6,991 in cash. After threatening to get an attorney, Charley, the mechanic, pushed my truck outside in a torn up, broken down mess. Out of $6,991 in cash for parts and labor, my truck ended up with 1 new rotor, a new pulley that wobbled, a power steering pump with parts missing on it and leaking, a broken fill tube on the transmission, and that's it. There was a list of approximately 12 parts I wanted upgraded like, driver and passenger side upper and lower control arms. That never happened. 4 brand new rotors, 4 new calipers, and ceramic break pads. That never happened. A brand new transmission that I paid $2,350 for. That never happened. The list goes on. The mechanic installed three things and not one of them worked after he installed them. This all took place over a three month period between January, 2024 through March, 2024. Maria Powell ripped me off $6,991. Her dad, Jessie, would be absolutely ashamed of her for what she has done. I am not giving up on going after her legally to recover my money. I will going after her criminally through the court system, followed by law enforcement. I texted her and told her to give me back my money. She ignored my text. I have since filed paperwork and an investigation is taking place. I will not stop. I have 5 years to legally pursue this matter. I most certainly will. Stay away from this place. I don't even think she has the shop open anymore after she ran off with my money. If she does have it open, don't go there. The business isn't even registered in the state of Kansas, an attorney informed me. It's also not an LLC as she claims it to be, an attorney told me. I have all kinds of evidence to back up what I am saying, and so do local attorneys who are aware of this scam she ran. I'm not the only one she did this to. I know of at least two people she ripped off this way. I also have a police report on this situation. There are local people who knew her dad, and they know who Maria is. They are absolutely shocked about her behavior. I showed them the evidence. They are ashamed of her. They mention about how ashamed her dad, Jessie, would be right now if he was still alive. Well, he's not alive now. His daughter, Maria, took over the shop and now she has made it a practice to rip people off and run off with their money with no viable way to contact her. The police and the court will catch up with her. I am going to make sure of it. Stay away from Mobile Car Care. It's not the same thing as it was when Maria's dad, Jessie, owned it.
Maria and her team have always taken great care of me and my vehicles. They are local and experts at what they do. Go here if you want great service at an affordable price. Don't go here if you trying to get work for free, they are a small local place with enough people trying to rip them off on jobs.
My experiences with Mobile Car Care have been good. Very friendly, down-to-earth people. Mechanic is very knowledgeable and honest about his experience with certain things. They're not out to rip you off, unlike so many other places around here.
We called them to come look at my husband's truck and the first day they did not show. I rescheduled it after trying to call the store and no one answered. So today they where supposed to come by to look at my husband's truck and again no one shows up. This is not a good way to run your business and we will not be rescheduling a third time.
This place is horrible I needed one thing fixed on my car and they turned it into 3 and my car won’t start the lady smiled and got smart and said I have the law on my side I would not recommend to anyone at all
If I could give 0 I would. Took my Buick enclave to them for a power steering issue the replaced the pump problem wasn't fixed. After a huge debate on who would pay for the correct repairs they decided not to fix my car. I ended up having someone else look at it they immediately found the leak and the auto parts store gave me the little rubber seal for free. Yup my car had a leak in a seal that these professionals didn't notice and I had my car fixed for free while they were throwing a fit over who would pay for the repair that ended up costing nothing. Absolute garbage. They also stripped a bolt while they had it
I cannot express how thankful I am to have stopped at this repair shop. Let me share more We had a 16 hour drive from indiana to colorado. After a gas stop in Kansas, we noticed our car was making the weirdest noise. We were happy to see we were .05 miles from a collision repair shop(booooo) We stopped in just to have someone take a listen and let us know if we were ok to drive the 6 and a half hours home… they sent us to T.O. Haas repair (booooo) …. They said they can’t even look at the car until tomorrow morning ..”MAYBE”… we are frustrated at this point because HEY MAYBE ITS NOTHING… But it’s not worth the risk with our fur babies in the back. After being let down from state farm and the other car shops in town, we made our way to mobile car repair. It’s like 100 degrees out and we were greeted by the two friendliest people ever. They listened to us ( and the car ), advised us on best practices on how to safely get home, our next steps if/when we have a problem on the road, and what we exactly needed to fix when we get back home. Side note- I got my car serviced before we left the trip and they looked at the receipt and told me 1. I got ripped off and 2. What they missed when servicing my car that is leading to these problems. OH AND DID I MENTION THEY DID ALL OF THIS FOR FREE. We were there for a total of 20ish minutes. If you need service done or a quote.. go to mobile car repair. You’re welcome in advance :)
Terrible. Called multiple days in advance to set up a time. Called the day prior and the day planned to confirm the appointment. And got no showed. Tried calling back after nobody showed up and got no answer. Can’t rely on them, I suggest utilizing another mechanics shop. Otherwise you will sit around all day, miss work and still have a car that won’t work.
