I opened my checking account online statement earlier this week to find that find that RoundPoint had increased my monthly mortgage debit by $300 per month. I called and was talked down to by a very uncooperative and condescendingly rude customer service representative who tried to tell me that an escrow analysis they conducted reveled that my Property taxes had increased by 100% so they had to increase my payment accordingly. Obviously that’s impossible as anyone with any sort of common sense would understand. When I pointed that out she then tried to claim that I had not paid the taxes due as part of my refi closing costs. A quick peak at the closing document refuted that nonsense. I attempted to explain to her that my taxes had increased - by $38 per year - which is a fraction of 1%. She continued to talk over me causing me to lose my temper. I attempted to get her to transfer me to a supervisor but apparently none were available. After 2 hours (no exaggeration ) of being off and on hold she finally came back admitting they had made a mistake. She said to expect a call from a supervisor to clarify and correct- that was 2 days ago- STILL NO CALLand the online account still reflects a $ 300 per month increase rather than $3.00 per month. They stole 2 hours of my time and caused me to lose my temper because of their inability to do basic math and prove very basic customer service. Horrendous company but they bought our mortgage from the original lender so there is no way to get away from them.
