Sad to say, but I really have to withdraw my other glowing review of Paul's INTEGRITY. Because there is none. The picture hanging on the wall of our Lord and Savior looks out over a mockery of his teachings. I've been a client of Paul's since 2015. I'm now parting company with this deceitful shop. The post 2009 Rav 4 has a plastic oil filter housing with a separate filter insert. I would recommend you look it up on YouTube, it explains the issue better than I have room for here. I brought my Rav in for a state inspection, tire rotation, and oil change. I provided a Toyota oil filter, and Pennzoil supreme oil. The last oil change, done at Paul's, I allowed Paul's to use their supplied oil and filter. My preference is for a factory oil filter, since I have an extended warranty and that's a stipulation within the warranty. So, my car, my wallet it's my policy. So what happened? I was told the oil filter housing MIGHT break if they removed it and it would be advisable to have one on hand. So some calls are made to locate the part, and I'm dispatched to fetch the part at Dover Toyota. While there I discuss the issue with the parts and service people. Turns out, if the torque values printed on the oil filter box are not followed, then it's possible to crack the oil filter housing on disassembly. So, when last the oil was changed, someone over-torqued the filter housing. Run back to Paul's to complete the oil change, with new housing in hand. Low and behold, when the old housing is removed, it had not a CRACK, but a chunk broken off one of the strengthening ribs. My back story is I have over 18 years experience in automotive shop management and started my career as a tech. I've witnessed all the underhanded and deceitful practices that occur in the auto repair racket. I knew full well that I was getting lied to. How much for a tire rotation, NH state inspection and oil change at Paul's INTEGRITY? $325.00 !!! $40.00 for a state inspection, the rest was for a tire rotation and removal of the broken housing, plus the part, which they graciously discounted the cost of. I know Paul wants his staff to up-sell every repair ticket that comes through the door and all garages do that. It's not profitable if they don't. Sadly, when you decide for deceitful practices rather than precision and professionalism, your name and reputation take a hit. I can honestly say that this has been a difficult story to tell, but my sense of betrayal and disappointment is too great. I've taken measures legally and while it's a pain in the butt, there are consequences when you try to pull these shenanigans. Lastly, in case you're wondering about plastic used on an oil filter housing and it's longevity, a Glock pistol has a frame of engineered plastic. It's designed to withstand over 20,000 psi over repeated cycles, same for Sig pistols used by our armed forces. Believe me, automotive engineering and the use of plastics for engine parts has been well researched and developed for longevity. And yes, the tech working at Paul's had the correct tool to remove the oil filter housing, which he was quite proud of showing me. Using that tool would not damage the housing. So, in closing I can honestly say it's best to know everything about your auto, so your BS meter will alert you to the games played at the auto repair shop. Oh, and avoid this place at all costs!!!

Hi Douglas, I am sorry to hear this. Yes, your correct you have been supplying your own oil and filter almost every oil change except for one, which was the oil change before last. Not only did my technician prep you on the housing possibility cracking on him before removal but my technician used the appropriate Toyota oil filter housing socket tool to remove the housing but due to heat , the rubber o-ring and the extended time between oil changes, the plastic teeth on the housing weaken over time and break off and/or a crack develops in the housing. You also provided the wrong oil filter for your vehicle this time.I have run into this on more then one Toyota vehicle in my years as a technician and that’s why they have updated their housing with an all aluminium housing. This was explained to you previously but you rejected our words and said you had extensive experience as a technician and did not need to change anything. Also I would like to point out, the only work you have had my shop do to your Toyota RAV4 is an oil change, tire rotation and a state inspection in the years you have been coming to me. Each time you have provided your own oil and filter, except for one time. We allowed you to run out to the Toyota Dealer to purchase your own oil filter housing, however, we advised you to purchase an updated aluminium housing, but you again told us that your a technician of 18 years. So for those reading this review, we have bent over backwards for Me Scheie by allowing him to provide his own parts and we run into one issue and you throw us under the bus and say I lack Integrity. I wish you the best Mr Scheie and I do hope you can find another shop that will allow you to bring your own oil and filter. Thanks Paul-Owner

Thank you Stephen for trusting us with your 2012 Chevy Silverado repairs. Your 5.3 liter is running much better with new lifters and rear brake pads and rotors. Stay safe and enjoy your Summer! Thanks Paul-Owner

Giving 1 Star because none is not an option Paul’s Integrity - ha! Let me tell you about my experience with Paul. I brought my car to Paul after having it diagnosed by another mechanic, boy was I in for it! What started off as a front wheel bearing and back caliper turned into a wild goose chase going through a punch list of repairs that their 75 years combined experience assured would resolve the issue. Brought the car back 5 times, had to point out the noise they consistently overlooked and after close to $3k of expenses was told “it’s your transmission - you should contact the place you bought it from because it’s a lemon”. The only lemon here is the pissed soaked one you make your customers chew while you bend them over a barrel. Was misquoted multiple times with estimates that the work done exceeded 10% of the quote, work started without consent and having to take the brunt of their issues because people were sick and computers were supposedly down. Bring your money elsewhere and consider yourself warned of these thieves. Never mind the false advertisement in their website saying you will get money off for services and complimentary inspections (see photo). Keeping a baby pent up in a crib all day in your waiting room literally next to a bathroom is a nice touch; if that’s what they subject their offspring to no wonder they treated me as such. Find someone else but hopefully they won’t be around much longer to take advantage of anyone else.

Hi Brendan, I am sorry you’re disappointed. So it’s unfortunate my employee had to bring his daughter to work. His babysitter broke her wrist so I allowed him to bring her to work this week. There is no law against an employee bringing their child to work if they don’t have coverage. It’s already difficult in this environment to find reliable help. As far as what you where charged for repairs we actually charged you $2300 for all of your repairs and that included a healthy discount because your a return customer. It’s unfortunate that you had a separate issue with your transmission that was separate from your previously needed repairs. Your vehicle is over 15 years old and has not been maintained to proper Honda recommendations. You previously left a 5 star review which you deleted after we informed you that your transmission is making a shuddering noise and it is not related to previous repairs. Although it seems like the timing is not great, we tried to work with you but you became disrespectful with us and hostile.

This place is incredible in my opinion. If you had to describe this repair shop team in three words it would be honesty, integrity and hard work. I had extensive work done on my 2009 Toyota Corolla and the work they did was solid. A day after returning the car home, a tree fell and totaled my car. I called the repair shop to request the invoice. Anthony went out of his way to write a detailed email about the repairs and worked with my insurance company he couldn't understand the work that was done. Everyone at the shop is super knowledgeable, love vehicles and ultimately wants to fix people's vehicle problems. Look no further than this repair shop. I will continue to do business with Paul's Integrity as long as I live on the seacoast. I recommend you do the same.

These guys are amazing! They managed to get my car in the DAY before my warranty ended- good thing because it needed a new engine. Well that new engine turned into also a transmission and then a starter and the amount of labor that took... let me tell you, it was all worth more than the whole car. After 2 months of that car i can imagine we ALL were sick of it! Warranty paid a good chunk but these guys worked with me for the out of pocket expense so I didn't get screwed over and drowned financially. I can't express how much they helped me out!

Went in for a rear brake job, that was desperately needed. They are extremely transparent with the entire interaction and helped us figure out what needed to be done asap, and things that will need to be worked on in the near future. They were able to get us in and the job done faster than any other shop in the area. Thank you to Paul, Anthony, and the rest of the team there for a great interaction and earning 100% of our business going forward.
