Well, that's part of the story. It's also why we don't install customer-supplied parts. This customer did, in fact, supply us the incorrect used part even after extensive conversation explaining his convertible uses a mirror that is unlike similar models. Still, we agreed to try and help but unfortunately we had to disassemble the door to do so. When it was discovered the used mirror wouldn't fit we reassembled the door and charged the customer for our time. All this was explained ahead of time which is why we go to great lengths to explain the whole situation and the risk. The customer left and came back in several times asking for a refund. We again explained the situation. The customer's grandfather then came in asking why we were charging for "doing nothing" and claimed it was an "easy" job and we shouldn't have charged his grandson. We again tried to explain and the situation heated up and I'm sorry to say escalated on both sides. We understand the customer's frustration but his anger should be directed at the person who sold him the wrong part. We did refund his money in full. This is another example of why we choose not to install customer-supplied parts, it rarely ends well for the customer or us.

Sold a Volvo suv to me that was a lemon. Transmission blew within 35 days. They would not do anything to make it right. I was stuck with a 9.5k paper weight. The women who runs this place is a habitual liar. Please take your business elsewhere. You will not get what it is you think you're getting. These people just want your money. They are not in it for anything other than the money....

Hello Mr White. Please see my response from the last time you left this review 7 years ago. To save you some effort I posted again here: Mr. White's situation is unfortunate if not misleading. Allow me to clarify using the facts: Mr. White did purchase a 2007 Volvo XC90 form us with 117,899 miles but in excellent condition at the time of sale, fully loaded and well under NADA book value. The vehicle was purchased with a personal check that promptly bounced and was returned. Mr. White did make good on the check relatively quickly and with a few phone calls but refused to pay the clearly posted bank fees which I waived after choosing not to fight with him over them. His attitude was short as it was with his pregnant wife during the sale when she suggested using a different bank account for the purchase. The vehicle was purchased on October 1, 2015 with a signed, state mandated Buyer's Guide clearly outlining our 30 day or 1000 mile warranty which is offered above the warranty of inspectabilty mandated by the State of Maine. There is no law demanding anything but the vehicle passes a Maine State inspection in Oxford County. The added warranty is above and beyond anything the state mandates and is offered as an extra incentive and honored by Fryeburg Motors when issues arise within the parameters. We recognize a higher mileage used car can have issues and we try to ease the burden to our customers. Months after the sale Mr. White stopped by our shop unannounced stating he felt the transmission shifted oddly but we couldn't reproduce the problem and there was no Malfunction Indicator to back up his feeling, no reason to read any codes as none were indicated, and Mr. White left seemingly satisfied. The next time we heard from Mr. White was when he made an appointment for an oil change and alignment at the end of January, 2016. No mention of the transmission was made and Mr. White never showed up for his appointment. The last time we heard from Mr. White was the end of March, 2016 when he called and told us that a local Volvo dealer claimed he needed a new transmission, nearly 6 months after he took delivery of the vehicle, not 35 days as he claimed. At this time he offered no substantiation, never brought us the vehicle to verify his claim, and as usual, his attitude was confronting and short. Mr. White ended his conversation stating he would be contacting his attorney. Once threatened with litigation we conferred with our state regulator, a State Police Detective assigned to our area who regularly monitors all used car dealers, as Maine is very heavily regulated. We were advised that indeed, we were not responsible, that his continuing to drive the vehicle was contributory negligence, and Mr. White should have contacted us regarding the issue if it was ongoing and should have brought the vehicle in for his missed appointment. We never heard from Mr. White or his attorney. We are always willing to help a reasonable customer, even 6 months after the sale. I'm not sure why Mr. White continues to harass us in this forum. We've had no dealings with him since this issue nearly 7 years ago.

I am adding to this review. The original is below the * line. Fryeburg Moters is the best repair shop I have ever used. The relationship Michelle has built with me is amazing. She goes above and beyond to provide me with information and support. Car Sales: I have purchased two cars from her. The first one I accidentally messed up by blowing the engine. Yes, my bad. The second one I drive it till it died at over 250,000 miles. Michelle handled all the paperwork around the disposal of this vehicle. From selling it to a junk yard, to sending the correct papers to the state she took care of everything while making sure I was up to date with her activities. She is looking for a replacement car for me. Service: When my girlfriend had a car accident in New Hampshire, Michelle stepped up to help navigate the insurance repair craziness. She accepted the tow and stored the damaged car, found us a repair shop, had the car towed to the repair shop and returned, talked with insurance companies to make sure all the correct pictures and estimates arrived with the right insurance agent, and kept us informed every step of the way. Repairs: Michelle has been repairing my valves over the years. The guys in the shop are very knowledgable and hard working. I have been given detailed estimates every time. I have never experienced an "uncharge" for small items like a nut. My car always is fixed right the first time. I have had to return with the same issues a second time. Go there for honest work and great service! *************************************************************** Michelle always fits me into their busy schedule. There was a clean safe space for me to wait in and the bill is reasonable. If you are a woman looking for a mechanic that is honest and won't rip you off this is the place to go
