I had an unimaginably horrible experience with Quail Hollow Financial Services and their mortgage broker, Michael Loeffler. Unfortunately, Loeffler did not follow through on his advertised interest rate lock commitment, which resulted in my not receiving the terms and rate I had been promised. Additionally, I did not receive my deposit back at closing. Despite my initial concerns, Loeffler reassured me that a reputable financial institution called "Relocation Express" was providing my loan and that I would receive my deposit back at closing. However, this was not the case. I did not receive the legally required Loan Estimate within the allotted timeframe, and the loan product and terms reflected in the Loan Estimate did not match what we had agreed upon. Upon raising my concerns, Loeffler provided conflicting explanations for where my deposit had gone. Ultimately, I was denied the advantage of a rate lock in a rapidly rising interest rate environment, which caused me significant financial harm. I believe Loeffler breached our contract and violated regulations designed to protect consumers in North Carolina. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue, Loeffler has not accounted for my rate lock funds or provided a full refund. The owner of Quail Hollow Financial Services, Scott McQuay, has denied responsibility for Loeffler's actions. If you search online, you will find the same has happened over the years with many clients of Loeffler. He uses unfair and deceptive practices during the mortgage process. The owner, Scott McQuay, unfortunately did not do the right thing and accept responsibility for his brokers actions. Overall, my experience with Quail Hollow Financial and Michael Loeffler was incredibly disappointing, frustrating and caused me undue financial harm. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I was able to secure a loan with another lender and get fully approved in one day, a feat that Loeffler was unable to do after months of delayed communication, sketchy incorrect documentation, and outright lies.
