I am a disabled veteran who made an offer on a property represented by a Jeff Cook agent. My offer was $21,000 over the asking price. The agent declined the offer unless I agreed to pursue a conventional loan instead of using my VA loan. Please employee a real estate agency that respects the service and sacrifice of your service members.

Mr Miller, Please note that the agent never has the ability to accept or reject any offer. The owner/seller is the only person that can direct the agent on which offers to accept or reject. In this case, the agent can not accept or reject any offer. I’m sorry that the VA offer did not get accepted, however we can’t force the seller to accept an offer simply because it’s VA. Additionally, I encourage you to speak with the VA about the VA appraisal process as some sellers are not accepting VA offers over asking price because of VA appraisal complications. I’m hoping your agent explained that to you prior to making the offer. Last, we love working with veterans, we love doing VA deals, so thank you for your service for our great country, but as I stated above, we can’t force an owner/seller to accept any offer as that is against real estate law. I do encourage you to have your agent place your offer as a backup offer, as sometimes the primary offer will fall out. In that case, you would be first in line. I’m sorry this one didn’t work out thus far.
