Back in April/ May my son Jaden wanted to get his own place so we decide buying was cheaper and better than renting. We contacted an agent here in Augusta Ga. and she pointed us in the direction of Security Federal Bank, Mr Andy Passmore. We helped our son with the process as far as the home search, keeping in touch with Passmore and ect. To back track, my son who is a 20yr "African American" was approved by and according to Mr Passmore for a conventional loan, 0 down 100% financing loan. We began the search for a new home based on the approval letter from the bank. The first home we found, upon inspection, learned it was not the home we wanted for our son. We pulled out of that one. The second home we found almost a month ago was in move in ready. Started the process for that got a closing date for 7/7 paid for the appraisal 510 and 500 earnest money, contract signed and heading toward close. Went through the 14 due diligence stage heading to close! On Monday the 25th my son called me and said Passmore called him and told him he now needed money down on the property and a co borrower! My husband calls him and he now, after months of search and over 1000 invested, tells my husband Jaden doesn't have enough credit and needs someone to go on the loan with him! My husband gives his info and Passmore calls back the next day to tell him his credit won't help! Hello did he not know that all the time about Jadens credit! We lost the 510 on the appraisal and leaned today the seller doesn't want to release our 500 em monies!!!! Out of a 1000!!!!! We did what was asked and required! How is it we are out all the time spent looking for a suitable home for our son, all the gas to travel around to the properties only to end up with a terminated initial contract and loan approval. It changed to 6700 at close, and down plus what, idk! Our sellers agreed to pay 100% of the closing cost! Buyers beware and let this serve as a helpful lesson in whom you chose to do business with. We lost the home due to no fault of our own and 1000 we can't . The appraisal for the house doesn't benefit us because we can't get it! They changed the loan! Now the earnest money, again through no fault of our own its now lost to us. My son was packing!

Wouldn't cash my wife's check from her employer. The check itself says security federal. Hopefully this saves someone their time.
