*UPDATE* After posting our review of our experience, the branch manager, Howard Doak, called and text me and our realtor to discuss what happened. As much as I appreciated the attempt to address the issue, the experience quickly soured. I am truly bothered by his public reply to my review. He acknowledged to me privately that Thomas did not respond to repeated attempts to contact him, yet publicly claimed he reviewed all correspondence and it was responded to in a "timely and positive manner." When I brought this up to Howard, he text me and said he’d be happy to revise his reply. I’ve seen no such revision and publicly twisting the truth when he knows his team is responsible for the failure makes it clear this is not a business I’d trust. Truly a disappointing experience. I would not recommend anyone work with Thomas Lyons at City Scape Home Mortgage. I cannot speak for their other lenders, but Thomas Lyons is extremely unprofessional and unreliable. He immediately pulled our credit after talking to us, told us we were approved and then when we asked him about moving our deed into a trust he stopped returning our calls. Our realtor, who referred us to him in the first place, tried to contact him and also couldn't get in touch again. I called, emailed, and text him and only once did he reply with a text message to my call, but when I mentioned who I was he never responded again. We have worked with other lenders since this and they have been happy to work with us and accommodate our trust requirement. I can safely say our credit scores have been affected by him pulling our credit so early in the process because by the time we realized we were not going to hear back from him we were outside of the window for credit pulls and our credit reports with a new lender say the number of inquires on our credit have impacted the score. Especially with interest rates this high, having this impact our credit scores can mean hundreds of dollars additional we will end up paying on our new mortgage each month. I hope this can help others to not end up in the same situation we have. :(
