He charged me $250 some dollars for a diagnosis I already gave him when I dropped my truck off. So with that diagnosis charge and the new starter work I needed done would have come to 700-$800 . That’s the most money I would have ever paid for a new starter. It’ll cost you a couple hundred dollars right away when he says he’s going to look your vehicle over. Even if you say like I did - don’t bother it’s an old truck, I know it has problems. He’ll just shoot back - it’s $80 thousand dollars for a new one! Maybe in his inflated world. Well now he’s responded on here defending the fact that he gave it the $200 computer test. If anyone in question about his professionalism wants to listen to my vans starter, let me know soon before I get it in… it’s sick and needs replacement. Exactly what i told him. He knows it. I know it. He just wanted more out of it than just replacing the starter. Don’t bother explaining it to us . It’s just something I have to take somewhere else and say the same thing. Replace the starter.

I'm sorry you feel that the testing on your van was in error. As we explained to you when you dropped your van off because you felt you needed a starter. We are going to test the entire system and pinpoint where the problem is. We did this because your starter was operating normally when you dropped the van off. You were charged the testing fees to test the battery to ensure that it was fully charged and would hold that charge. We also test to make sure the battery was capable of supplying enough voltage to the starter when cranking. We then tested your alternator to ensure it was capable of putting out the required voltage and amperage to maintain the battery. We then tested your starter to ensure it did not have excessive voltage drop or amperage draw when cranking the engine. After all test were performed we found no problems with your starting system in your van. We then explained that putting a stater in your van would be simply for a preventative measure as we could not justify the replacement based on the testing we did.
