Hello Mr. Thao, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with your experience at our shop. Your initial concern was the oil light on the dash. First, we tested the oil pressure switch and found it to be good. At that point, we advised you that the next step is to replace the oil pump, but that it may also not solve the issue. We also informed you that the next step after that, should replacing the pump not fix the issue, would be to rebuild or replace the engine. You gave us the authorization to replace the oil pump, so we performed that service. We test drove the vehicle for 21 miles and verified via test guage that the pressure was at the manufacturer's specifications. The vehicle was then good to go. After pickup, you brought the vehicle back in with the concern that the pump was not working and you provided a video showing the light on the dash again. We retested and again found the oil pressure staying at 15psi or higher via our test guage. We drove the vehicle several miles and had it idling for several hours to verify the repair a second time. We then cleared the vehicle again for release, and you were dissatisfied that we could not duplicate the issue. As a courtesy, we refunded $2,000 of your repair cost as a gesture of good will. As for your dissatisfaction with the repair timeframe, as a small shop, we work as accurately and efficiently as possible. We were also told at your initial drop off time that you were in no rush to get the vehicle back. We have access to several sources for parts, and it takes time for us to find the best deal and quality available. We are also at the mercy of shipping times. The hours your repair required were 13.5, which spanned several days as we also tended to other scheduled appointments. To address your concern about our use of the internet in researching your vehicle's issue, we do often turn to the resources we have at hand to diagnose and solve issues. We have access to resources shared by manufacturers and other technicians that assist in the diagnostic/repair process. We are sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. Our procedure is to diagnose, repair, and verify our repairs before releasing a vehicle. Sometimes, vehicles have more repairs that are needed if a repair does not fix the initial concern. As we did in your case, we inform customers that there may be additional work needed if a repair does not work.
