Reliable work and friendly service.
BEWARE!! My son and I were new customers (and will NEVER be back), and we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in the lack of skill and honesty shown by this shop. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere to get your vehicle diagnosed, because they will not stand behind it if they are wrong! You get to pay for any and all repairs they make while they GUESS at what's wrong with your car! Towed my car in the night before with a "start but immediate stall" situation, and agreed to a $180 "diagnostic" fee (or should I say "we'll look at it and take a guess" fee.) Was told it NEEDED a starter. After consulting with my mechanic uncle about all of the symptoms (which I also provided to Christian Brothers, along with the preliminary conclusions by my uncle, which was a clogged oil pressure sensor), I decided not to go ahead with replacing of the starter since my uncle STILL was not at all convinced that the starter was the problem. (By the way, their quote included about a 100% -- DOUBLE -- markup of both parts and labor. Remanufactured starter is $360 for me at Napa, they wanted to charge me $670 for theirs. Book time is 1 hour (according to Mitchell) to change the starter, and they wanted to charge me $330 labor.) In the end, I decided to just pay the diagnostic/guessing fee and reassess my next move. My uncle works in the area, so he agreed to stop by to give me his own diagnosis with the car in Christian Brothers' parking lot. To both of our shock and amazement, the car started right up. We suspect that the shop could not replicate the problem after the car sat the night before, and rather than telling me that, they decided to tell me it needed a $1100 starter job that it really didn't need (the car has started EVERY SINGLE TIME since that day 10+ days ago with ZERO issues or concerns with the starter!) So, LUCKILY, I am only out the $180 "diagnostic" fee (what again did they DIAGNOSIS??) and not another $1100 for a starter repair. Rule #1 for shops: If you can't replicate a problem, then share that info with your customers and let them decide what to do next!! Had I been told that the car no longer had starting problems the next day after sitting in their lot the night before, I would have taken the car and said "I'll see you when it or something else happens again." Instead, they rolled the dice, decided to give me a guess at what to replace, but did it on the wrong customer who had too much knowledge to be fooled. They wanted to try to pocket the $1300 bucks from me. Now, they only got $180 and, likely much more costly, lost 2 (and hopefully more with this review) customers forever. Shops with these kind of policies are what give auto mechanics a bad name!

Paid for a diagnostic and was sent away to the dealership because they don't have the "right tool" to fix the problem.

May 10, 2024We apologize that the tools required to complete the repair on the vehicle are not something we have access to, which created the need to take it to the dealer. Please know we try our hardest to not have to send people elsewhere and always try to complete everything here in-house, as it's important to provide smooth experiences. Thank you for the feedback, and we apologize again for any inconvenience. Respectfully, Christian Brothers Sun Prairie

Brought in my girlfriend’s BMW because of a rear braking issue. Technician diagnosed it as a rear right caliper failure resulting in a metal to metal pad/rotor and a healthy rear left brake pad etc. She ended up paying close to $140 for the diagnosis, which was no issue to her at all, but what came next was a huge shock: an itemized cost breakdown of $1200 for all 4 pads, 4 rotors, and 4 “brand new” calipers, which might be questionable seeing other reviews of them reusing or purchasing used parts for customer cars. As someone who has been around cars for years and has experience with the business side of auto repair, $1200 for full brake service is absolutely insane, and 100% predatory to anyone who doesn’t know the true costs of parts, etc. I’m all for supporting small businesses, but when you try to take advantage of people for nearly double what a large chain mechanic costs, that’s where you need to draw the line. Will never return here.
