One of my employees went to Silver Lake Auto & Tire Center on 30620 County Rd VV, Hartland, WI 53029. Called and asked for a quote for an alignment on his 1966 El Camino was quoted $170.00 thought that was a touch high but it's about 1/4 mile from my shop. He got a call saying well since it's old now it will be $350.00. Grant it he already replaced everything in the front end, everything I mean Everything was brand new NO rust or seized parts to deal with. He also asked them to look at his shifter was quoted an additional $150.00. When he picked it up. The bill was over $720.00!!! They couldn't do anything thing with the shifter because it needed new bushing, but still charged him the money to look at it for the minute and a half. As for the alignment they said it was $350.00 more than the original $170.00. And the car still doesn't go down the road safe. Well lesson learned never ever take your vehicle to a shop that has to learn on your car, if they would have been honest up front and said we don't know how to do older cars FINE he would have taken it to a better equipped place. So take my advice and never trust a shop that is basically just a parts replacer.
