I had my vehicle serviced there after I hit a deer. Before the accident I had no issues with vehicle’s performance. Once the work was finished the check engine light went on,. When I asked to have them look into why the light was on, their response was quote, “it was like that before the accident.” I took it to my mechanic. He found the oil was two quarts overfull resulting in my engine having issues. I have also been having problems with my traction control light going resulting in a loss of power. This never happened before I hit the deer. I was offered zero help from Merton Auto Body. They lost a customer.

Aug 23, 2023We (MAB) have not completed any repairs for this customer in almost 18 months, so the timing of this review doesn't seem logical. With regards to the mechanical issues, MAB did not perform any mechanical repairs on this vehicle. Nor did we add an extra two quarts of oil to this vehicle. After the customer made us aware of his concerns, we reviewed the damage and did not believe the concerns to be related to the loss. As a good faith gesture, one of our estimators did perform a scan on this vehicle to look into the check engine light. That scan revealed a code indicating an "oil control valve" issue. After researching this code, we found that it is typically related to a lack of regular maintenance. It would not be related to cosmetic body repair. The estimator reviewed the scan and advised that Mr. Jennaro should take his vehicle to a mechanical shop. At that point, Mr. Jennaro proceeded to yell at our staff, stormed out of our office and punched the door on his way out. I stand behind how this was handled by our staff as they were not rude and did look into the issues complimentary. There's no excuse for treating our staff this way, so we are pleased that you plan to utilize a different shop in the future.
