Sternots has been nothing but fabulous to me. They are incredibly friendly, prompt, and professional. Once my spouse was concerned that one of my rotors was going and the very next morning I needed to head out of town for work, a 3 hour drive. I went to Sternots for the first time and let them know the situation; they checked to make sure it was safe for me to go the distance and when I asked what I owed, they said not to worry about it! Now that’s small-town care about real people. Then just a few days ago, I got in my car on a Monday morning and got a low tire pressure warning. That’s always scary because you probably shouldn’t go far. Well I knew right where I was taking it. Sternots got me right in (even though I’m sure they had other pre-made appointments for the day) and communicated with me the whole time as it was diagnosed and then fixed. I’m so grateful for this place!!

Clayton is the best mechanic i have ever had dealings with. He tells you what the problem is, gives you your options and will tell you what he recommends. Just an all around good person. Great service, great work, great prices!! We take all of our vehicles to Sternot Auto.

I just traveled to Mosinee from Chicago to visit family for just a few days. As I got off the highway, my car started to make a crazy noise. My aunt recommended this place, she’s been coming for years. We called and they were able to help us immediately. I was so grateful. I expected the worst but was grateful that they were at least able to help me same-day. We arrived shortly after. I explained my issue… using less-than-amazing sound effects. They seemed to know instantly what my problem was. Now, like I mentioned, I’m from Chicago; so when dealing with mechanics, I am conditioned to expect the worst. Not to mention- my husband isn’t here. I have no idea about cars. They could have (and at home, would have,) told me anything was wrong and I would have no option but to pay. I went in expecting a crazy diagnosis. I am hundreds of miles from home. If I can’t make it home like this; the problem needs to get fixed here and now. I expected to pay a lot. I was freaking out. These people were amazing. They were so knowledgeable. They told me what they thought, then they checked to see if that was the issue- it was. They showed me the problem and how they were fixing it. They told me other issues I had KNOWING it wasn’t something I was going to fix at that moment, they just wanted to help me. I am totally jaded by mechanic shops in Chicago, that is obvious. These people could have told me anything and I would have had to figure out how to come up with money I didn’t have. They fixed my problem immediately. They gave me a great price and worked quickly, they explained everything thoroughly and in a way I understood. I wish so badly that I could find a mechanic shop like this at home. I could go on and on.. I wonder if people in Wisconsin take it for granted to have a place like this so readily available to them. Also- it was so beautiful inside. It smelled good. The bathrooms were clean like someone’s home would be. The chairs in the waiting room were comfy! They had coffee and water. The decor was so well done. Clearly a business that they care about and take pride in. This review turned out longer than I intended, but it was truthfully a great experience and I wanted to share. If you’re reading this I would absolutely take your car here to be serviced. I have been to many mechanics and never had such a great experience. I’m going to be so annoyed going back home and dealing with the mechanics there…. Like the ones who caused me to be here after they worked on my car less than a week ago. Great prices, friendly staff, Clayton takes the time to explain what is wrong and how to fix it without talking down to you. Becky is always friendly and does what she can to get you in on short notice. You really can't go wrong with Sternot!
