My girlfriend was having trouble starting her car so I swapped the spark plugs out and I got it started but running rough so she had it towed here took them 5 days to look at which no big deal I get people are busy but then he charges her 40 dollars to hook up scan code which I already did there was no codes he said there was whatever them tells her he cleaned up the spark plugs and tried telling her I put the wrong ones is which is a lie I got the receipt to prove that but he went and charged her 95 dollars to change the spark plugs when she brought it back I checked and those spark plugs were not changed just cleaned up then told her she was over due for a oil change which she had 300 miles left didn’t even call us to get approval to do all this just went and did on his own what a weird place long story short charged almost 300 dollars for nothing what a joke don’t go here

Hi Cory We’d like to address your concerns, so let’s start at the beginning. Your girlfriend made an appointment because her car would crank but not start. An appointment was made for Friday 3/31/23. She had it towed to out shop on 3/29/23, two days early. Just because it’s here, doesn’t mean we have time in our schedule for it, that’s why it was scheduled for Friday 3/31; that’s the first opening we had to look at her car. She asked if she could have it towed early, we said yes, but we wouldn’t be getting to it any earlier. She understood that. The repair took less than 2 business days-part of Friday & Monday. Next, let’s address the charge for our mechanics to hook up their ScanTool to diagnose her no-start issue. A mechanic’s scan tool isn’t just a code reader that displays DTC [Diagnostic Trouble Code] numbers; they run tests, look at data from different modules in vehicle, tests components through the programs built into the scan tool and other functions necessary for diagnosing, testing and relearning components in the vehicle. Just because there aren’t DTCs present, doesn’t mean tests don’t need to be run with the scan tool. Modern vehicles have many, many electronic and computerized components and sometimes the only way to get to the bottom of the issue at hand is to use a scan tool. $40 is our standard fee for that service. Incidentally, there was a DTC set in your girlfriend’s vehicle, it is listed on her invoice [P0011: intake variable valve timing system target error]. Next let’s address the spark plugs you installed in your girlfriend’s car. You installed Champion brand with copper electrodes. The manufacturer of your girlfriend’s car recommends NGK Iridium spark plugs for a reason. [NGK Part no. 93298 is the actual part originally installed] So, yes, you installed the wrong spark plugs. Then, because of cranking the engine without it starting the spark plugs got fouled with gas. The mechanics removed the spark plugs and cleaned them to remove the fuel that had fouled them. They did NOT REPLACE the spark plugs with new parts; they re-placed the existing spark plugs back into the engine; your girlfriend’s invoice also does not show any new spark plugs being sold to her. The labor charged for this included a compression test to make sure there was good compression while diagnosing why the car wasn’t starting. And when you or she cranked the car without it starting it dumped gas into the crank case because the spark plugs weren’t firing, contaminating the engine oil. THAT’S why it needed an oil change, not that it was due because of mileage or time, but because of contamination. Contaminated oil can damage an engine because it loses it’s lubricating qualities for essential parts of the inner workings of the engine. While we’re on the subject of engine oil, lets not forget that the car was 1.5 quarts LOW when it was brought to the shop. That entire system only takes 3.17 quarts of oil in total! That means it was missing ALMOST HALF of the oil the engine needs to run properly. That’s a very dangerous game you were playing. As for charging “$300.00 for nothing” here’s the breakdown: Diagnosis $47.50 Scan computer /computer hook-up $40.00 Remove, clean & reinstall existing spark plugs AND a Compression test $95.00 Full Synthetic Oil Change [includes lubricating all grease fittings] $64.95 Supplies, Tax and Fees $43.72 TOTAL $291.17 I think that covers it. If you have any other concerns, why don’t you stop down at the shop, we’ll be more than happy to discuss it with you.

WASTE OF TIME! My trooper sat here for three days without any communication. Finally they said their was nothing wrong with spark plug wells except some dielectric grease(suspected issue was misfire). Cam to pickup truck and it wouldn’t start. Took it to Countryside and they said a big piece of rubber was prohibiting the driver side inner spark plug from properly being seated and corrected it in an hour. Like I said - SAVE YOUR TIME. I paid $317 for these guys to change out my rear shocks in the end so go somewhere else if you need RELIABLE diagnostics.

While we're sorry you feel that way, but, let's make sure we're all on the same page. First of all, you drove your Trooper away, so I can only assume you got it to start. When you stopped at the shop to make an appointment for your 2000 Isuzu Trooper you told us you were concerned about your head gasket leaking oil, a misfire [you said you observed oil in the spark plug tubes] and wanted us to install the shock absorbers you had in the back seat of the Trooper. You made an appointment for Tuesday 7/26/22 and you were going to drop it off Monday, 7/25/22 late in the day/after hours for us to look at on TUESDAY. You actually dropped your Trooper off Sunday night. The Trooper did sit all of Monday, as our schedule on Monday was full and your appointment was for Tuesday. When you called Monday afternoon to inquire how your Trooper was coming you were told you were a day early but you were on the schedule for Tuesday. You said you must have gotten the date mixed up. Tuesday your Trooper was evaluated for signs of a head gasket leak as you requested. There was NO head gasket leak. The technicians DID however find someone had welded an Allen wrench to a broken bolt of one of your valve covers. The valve cover gasket was "weeping" [meaning only wet, not an active leak] and our technicians advised it was acceptable to leave it as is for now unless and until the leak became problematic. They also advised replacing the valve covers when that work is done due to the questionable repair made previously. When checking inside the spark plug tubes, our technician discovered them loaded with dielectric grease, but no oil. The technician installed your shock absorbers. You were called on Wednesday July 27 and told there was no head gasket leak, the shocks were installed, and there was no oil in the spark plug tubes-but lots of dielectric grease [that you said YOU put there] and advised about the state of the valve covers and that you could pick up the Trooper. You asked of we could scan the check engine and ABS lights [This was not originally requested when scheduling your appointment. We're happy to scan and diagnose DTCs, but we don't automatically do it because it costs extra]. We had already removed the Trooper from the service bay and were working on other vehicles when this request was made. One of our technicians scanned your Trooper outside the service bays; 3 DTCs came up all of which would all require further diagnosis and testing to determine what caused the DTCs. You asked if we could install your wheel speed sensor [inside the Trooper]. You were called and told you would have to scheduled a time at a later date to do the additional diagnosis and repair work. The additional work you were requesting was not what you originally asked us to do. We're a VERY busy shop and we're happy to look at whatever issues a customer is having, but we are not clairvoyant. We cannot read your mind. Whatever you want addressed needs to be stated-at the time of the appointment. We can't always accommodate additional requests once work has been completed without scheduling at a later date. When you picked up your Trooper, you were very agitated, quite hyper, a bit argumentative and more than a little hostile toward the office staff. The amount you paid was not just to install your shocks; we looked for a head gasket leak, found the issue with your valve cover bolt/Allen wrench issue and scanned your DTCs. It's all itemized on your invoice. While we're sorry you feel you had a bad experience at our shop, our experience with you was also less than ideal. As for Countryside being able to repair your spark plug issue, maybe let a mechanic do the repairs next time instead of making a bad situation worse. But thank you, we appreciate the business.

I was in a total jam with my boat trailer. Needed tires and new bearings. They got the tires and repaired my bearings the same day. Saved my vacation with my son. They worked overtime and very friendly and helpful. Thank you. I should mention that I was on 151 when the tread on my tire broke free. Awesome job all around.

I would highly recommend Johnnie's! We got a flat tire on the highway close to Beaver Dam. We changed out the flat for our spare tire and drove to the shop. Sarah and Johnnie stopped what they were doing, assessed the tire, and plugged and patched it right away so that we could get back on the road. They went above and beyond, the price was very affordable, and they were very personable and kind.
