I had a generally positive experience here until my last oil change. They overtightened the plug bolt, requiring a new oil pan, which cost me about $600.

Think it's easy getting a tire problem taken care of in Montpelier on a Saturday morning? Think again. Called 802 Honda at 8:15am, no one picked up the phone, had to leave a message. Ditto 802 Toyota. Tried Vermont Tire and Auto. They picked up, but were booked for the day. Finally I tried Gills Point. Mike picked up, told me to come down. Fixed the tire, had me out the door in 30 minutes at a price I was happy with. I needed the car to get to a doctor's appointment. I'm grateful to Mike and the crew for making that possible. They were a life-saver. Felix Grassmann Montpelier P.S. It is now over 2 hours since Gills fixed my tire. I have yet to hear back from the two "big" 802 dealers. Have yet to hear back from either of them.

I Highly recommend Gills Point Tire. I needed an alignment and tires put on. My wife was driving on a donut. We got an appointment for 8am the next morning. The other places we called couldn't get us in for a week even after explaining our situation. The experience was great! Fast, friendly and very reasonably priced. Definitely going to be the first place I call from now on!

Had to get my car in for an inspection, they got me in the next day. I had to get some work done on it to pass, and they had it done in a few hours and stuck to the cost given on the quote which seemed straightforward and reasonable. Cant ask for anything else from a shop, will go back again for basic work!

They took me for a ride on my inspection. They failed me because of a tiny bit of rust on the rear brake rotors. I took it to another mechanic and he said they were probably just trying to get a brake job out of me. The other mechanic noted that there was less then 1/4 inch of rust and that they are supposed to test drive it to see if it effects the performance. They probably need to pull these stunts because they are incompetent and have a bad reputation in the area.

The best experience, buy your tires here! Honest, knowledgeable, well priced. I had a bulging sidewall and needed a replacement ASAP on a Friday before a long drive for an odd sized tire (245/55 19). Not only was this the only place within 100 miles that had any, they warned me that the tires they had were being discontinued and would recommend buying only the one and going back to the dealer I got the original tires from to get a matching pair. They knew I was not local and would not necessarily be repeat business, but were open, honest, friendly, affordable, capable, and fast.
