I've been putting off writing a review for so long because I didn't know quite how to articulate the journey my car went through. The short version is up here. The long version is down below. - When it turned out that I was going to be stranded in VT (I live in another state 4 hours away), he offered to drive me an hour away to the nearest airport/rental car/uhaul, etc. so I could take a rental back home and leave my car with him. - Wes will MAKE sure your car is running. The job took over a month because he wanted to ensure I was safe and could make the 4 hour drive back home. Trust me, it's because my car was f'd up beyond what anyone could reasonably do in a single day (details below). - If you ask him questions, he'll break down exactly what's wrong with your car, what he's trying to do to fix it, what worked, what didn't work, etc. I can tell you this guy is THOROUGH. - I bugged him every week asking how the car was doing and he was incredibly patient and answered all my questions. I have never had someone so patient, thorough, and committed to making sure my car was SAFE. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend him if you're in Vermont and run into issues. LONG VERSION: Went for a ski trip up in VT. On the way down, my car started smoking so I had to pull over to a hotel parking lot. Ended up calling AAA and got a tow to Warren's (which is one of the only garages open on Sunday by the way). At first, it looked like my issue was just the oil pressure switch and my car was just dumping oil on the ground. Should've only taken 4 hours. Turns out a LOT more was wrong with my car. Warren put my car on the lift and showed me each part of the car that was broken and went through an explanation. I personally have never had a mechanic go through my car like that. It turns out that also my head gaskets were blown, piston rings, engine block, basically the entire bottom part of my car was horrendous (he showed it to me). Now what's interesting is that I went to 2 different mechanics about 2 weeks before this trip and NONE of them said anything about the issues in my car. One was a dealership and the other was an independent shop. So to have someone who went above and beyond to tell me what's wrong with my car was fantastic. Clearly, this job would take a while and so Wes offered to drive me AN HOUR away to the nearest UHAUL (the 10 ft one too, not the small van) where I drove 4 hours home. I could not take a rental car because most of them closed already. I managed to get home safe. Over the course of more than a month, Wes provided me updates on how the car is doing. He mentioned the biggest issue for his location was getting parts sent to his shop since it's fairly isolated so that's what ended up taking a lot of time. Eventually, I was able to pick up my car and it made the 4 hour drive home. Side note, Wes even encouraged me to go see another mechanic to verify his work as well as fix additional items he did not have time to fix. So I recently went to another mechanic in my town who commented that the underside all checked out and that Wes was correct in that I also needed to fix my front bearings. Overall, it was a great experience working with Wes. I could not recommend someone more highly than him. If you ever read this Wes, you're a good dude and you deserve all the good things that come your way.
