Great group to deal with, had my rig towed without triple a fair price I feel for the tow, was very professional
I was locked out of my vehicle. They charged me 225 dollars. It took 3 minutes to unlock my vehicle. What a rip off. Never will do business with them again
I had a very good experience with stockwells and was very surprised to see these reviews. I was in an accident in randolph and they were the tow company called to remove my vehicle (I did not call them myself). this was my first accident and I’m a younger female so I didn’t really know what I was doing surrounding the whole accident. on scene they were nice and explained where my car was going and gave me a business card to reach out. they held my car at their lot and when my insurance reached out to me, I was out of the country and unable to clear my car for appraisal. I called stockwells and they cleared my car for me and even held my belongings. Over the phone (the owner I’m assuming) was extremely kind sounding and very accommodating to me. they held my stuff for about 2-3 weeks at no extra charge and were flexible with when I could pick it up, the whole time saying “I work for you” which felt really nice. It’s a family business and I met with the son for pick up. I had no charges from them (I think?) because I have triple AAA and I have an active insurance policy to my name and vehicle… like I’m supposed to.
We were charged $450 for towing our car 9 miles, plus $375 was added as an after hours fee. Our car was held at Stockwells lot for 14 days, with a gate fee, a release fee and even a fuel fee added on. Kip Stockwell stonewalled our insurance agent, refusing to have the bill paid by credit card, and refusing to release the car to another towing company. The experience was absolutely sickening. Total bill - $2695.
These guys are great. They were so kind and the only company that offered to help. I was stuck on forest highway and local companies were of no help. Stockwell came and the wait wasn’t long for where we were. The price was very reasonable as other companies charge well over $3,500 and didn’t seem like they wanted to help. The closest tow company was dupreys and the guy went took a look said he would be back with a shovel and left us in dark woods without telling us he was leaving. Howard did a great job and escorted us out and made sure we were safe. Again thank you Stockwell family.
Our son was in a pretty bad accident with my wifes new car on his way back home from school, stockwells happened to be there to take our car to their impound lot. Our insurance provider wouldnt cover the damages or the surgery my son had to have after the accident because he wasnt listed on the car policy. To make matters worse stockwells decided to charge my wife almost $7000 to get her car out of his lot and also charged us the tow bill for the other car that was involved even after their insurance covered their vehicle. Its too bad there are still businesses that take advantage of women this day and age.
totally blown away to be charged $275 to be towed 4.7 miles. i guess i should have read the reviews before using them. never again will i make that mistake.
I'm absolutely blown away by how much this place charges! it makes me sick. I would absolutely avoid this place if possible!...... Hundreds more than I feel like is reasonable!
i had a vehicle towed from this company. And I would not recommend them for any services required. its one of those businesses you hear about. Just keep scrolling to the next company. i truly felt ripped off by this outfit to were your stomack starts turning. You might as well talk to a wall when you talk to the owner and the sons always right mentality. Talk to your friends and neighbors and see what's said, but make your own decision. this is were i failed, research it. i still have my paperwork if anyone want to see, i did use them.
