The paperwork was an absolute nightmare but I’m happy so far with the car I purchased through them. They tried to make the paperwork as painless as possible for me, which I appreciate - but due to Vermont laws it took several hours so just know that could be the case if you go in as well - block out time in your day accordingly. I blocked out about three hours but it took more than that. Everyone there is super friendly, though, and try to get you set up asap.

We went to Coggins looking for a Rav 4. Brian was excellent to work with. He was friendly and helpful. The finance department was also friendly and helpful and did not try to up sell us anything. I would recommend Coggins to anyone who is looking for a reasonable priced used car.

Coggins Toyota of Bennington is the spot! I can’t recommend it enough. Derek there helped me out enormously in picking out and later purchasing my first vehicle (a lovely 4Runner). He was incredibly helpful, professional, patient, and courteous with me, as well as an overall decent guy. Being my first vehicle buy, I was definitely skeptical and cautious of the typical “shady salesman” stereotype and because of this I had my guard up, but not for very long. Aiden was also very pleasant and courteous, and I have absolutely zero complaints. Impeccable customer service through and through and most importantly, the vehicle is and continues to be AWESOME! Let me preface this with, I usually prefer to write good reviews to promote business, but today I just can’t. I’m a well qualified, well educated(in vehicles) buyer. I search the Toyota website for cars optioned the way I want and call dealer by dealer to verify availability and prices. Found a car I wanted at Coggins and contacted them. Marcus was my first point of contact when I called in. He was great, direct, responsive and stated he would have to pass my info over to Doug to contact me as Doug would be the salesman on this car. I want to clarify that I did state to Marcus that, I’m in no particular rush, but am ready to purchase so just contact me when they are ready. I figured it would be a straight forward sale as their price was honest on their website and I was straight forward with them about my ability and timing on purchase. I ended up getting slow responses from Doug between 12p and 9p(which I found strange, but hey, a deal had to be made). We agreed on a number and I told them to draw up paperwork in the morning and I’ll talk to my bank so we can get the ball rolling. Doug states he will contact me in the am. Come first thing the next morning I send out a text stating I have a meeting around noon and to contact me outside of that time frame. No response. I get a random text in the afternoon saying he has been busy and hasn’t forgotten about me(this is ironic(remember for later)) Me thinking we had a deal ready to go, stated that it’s fine and to just take their time as I’m sure they are busy. I finally get a phone call from Doug around 5:30pm apologizing and stating he’s been busy all morning. This part amazes me. He also states THEY SOLD THE CAR I WAS MAKING A DEAL ON THAT MORNING to someone else! Crazy! My issue with this, you made a deal with me, we just had to finalize. I offered to send a deposit if needed. Instead Doug was “busy” selling the car I wanted all morning, left me out of the loop, and contacted me END OF DAY for most dealerships to notify me that they had sold the car. A whole day I could have used to contact other dealerships to lock down a deal. This is the reality of dealership experience today. The audacity of salesmen and dealers today is outrageous. It’s become significantly worse after Covid and it was already bad before. It’s a sad truth, but this is why people dislike the dealership model and experience. I’ve purchased many new cars before and as an educated and qualified buyer it’s just sad that they treat people with such disrespect and disregard for their time. Do better dealerships, do better Doug. Marcus I appreciate your time and efforts. I do not appreciate dealerships that don’t respect their customers. I actually told Doug, that there is a dealership local to me with a near identical car that I refuse to buy from out of principle alone due to poor treatment. Thus, why I was willing to travel 2hrs away to buy theirs. (Yes same prices, trim, additional)

I worked with Jon on the purchase of my tundra. He was great, made the whole process super easy and faster than I expected. Dealership was very clean and all staff that I came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend giving them a shot at your business.

My lease was getting ready to expire in less than a year so I started shopping for a new Toyota Tacoma. Brian Oakley has sold myself and my family In the neighborhood of a dozen trucks. We are always kept informed and updated of the progress when the trucks are ordered and not available on the lot. And always as soon as the vehicles are received, we take delivery.
