Haven’t had the displeasure of using their towing services but I was behind their tow truck in Londonderry & seems maybe they drive intoxicated. Pulled out of a side road without looking to see if it was clear then proceeded to drive down the middle of 2 lanes holding up traffic instead of picking 1 lane & driving in it.

May 23, 2023April we are Skips garage in Plaistow. We only service vehicles and do not tow. You are referring to skips towing in londonderry. We'd greatly appreciate if you'd remove this and rate the proper business. Thanks in advance. Getting 1star reviews for some other business actions hurts.
I went to skips to have my vehicle gone through to find any issues before I started using it. Man what a mistake, they said I needed breaks and rotors, see attached photo of the breaks they said needed to be replaced. They said I may need calipers, they worked like butter, they said I had no spare tire, it was sitting in the back of the truck per the note I left. They quoted me $1800 dollars to fix my truck, I was able to fix it for $75 for an exhaust clamp and sway bar link. Do not trust them! Sketchy business practice!!! Wanted to support local business but never again! At least they got the oil change right.... Below the person states the rotor was rusted out, also false there was a little surface rust from sitting during rain, once I drove it home it was gone.

May 23, 2023Nick, we're sorry to hear you weren't pleased with your recent visit. As you recall, you asked us to perform a used car inspection to see what your vehicle needed to be safe on the road. We showed you pictures, and documentation of what should be replaced to keep your vehicle in its best shape. Please remember we have high standards when we do inspections, we don't let things slip by like other shops might. We also don'e believe in patching things together just to get it on the road, we think a vehicle is something that should be invested in. Also you're showing a pic of the brake pad which was fine. The real issue was your completely rusted out brake rotor.
If you have any kind exhaust or lighting modifications done to your car or truck and need it to pass inspection - do not go here! If you know your brakes are good (have between 1/4 and 3/16” pad) left - they will fail the vehicle upon inspection and require you get new rotors and brakes pads. I was not happy with the way my inspection was performed. Not only did it take about and hour and half, I was failed in multiple points that were not “safety related”. I went to another shop a couple of weeks later and my truck passed with no problems.

May 23, 2023Blake, we're sorry to hear you were not happy with your recent visit. Being new to NH you may not be aware of the NH State Inspection laws and things needed to pass. For instance you vehicle had no muffler plus your light mods needed to be covered. These alone would fail you for NH State Inspection. As for your brakes, there were no issues with the pads, all four of your rotors were pitted, rusted and would not pass. Yes inspections take time if the shop really wants to make sure the vehicle is safe for the road. It's really unfortunate that another shop passed your vehicle as it did have multiple fail points. We take pride in that we abide by the NH State Inspection laws and we will not apologize for doing the right thing. It's unfortunate that other local shops don't always do the same.
I had the hardest time finding a reliable and honest mechanic shop until I found skips! I always get nervous bringing my car into places just to be up charged with poor work but not here! On top of the staff being super friendly and personable, they make sure I fully understood exactly what my car needed to get done. They showed me pictures and brought me to see what exactly what they were talking about. It felt good knowing I had mechanics that cared about my car and over all safety. I HIGHLY recommend bringing your car for any of its need for a super reasonable price.
