Only giving two stars because I was told they talked to local law enforcement about window tint and that 50% they wouldn't care about, because the shop didn't have 70%. I've been hit twice and informed the officers of what I was told by the shop, officer said they definitely lied and that it's still illegal to have anything lower than 70% on your front doors, which is why I wanted 70% in the first place because i was aware of the laws, so please just get 70% in the front if you want it, no sense in risking tickets for tint. Even if the shop tells you they talked to the police, because they definitely haven't. Getting lied to is a huge problem for me, I know I was risking it but they assured me it would be fine. The work done is solid though. (EDIT) This happened in hinsdale, twice, and both times I was told what the shop said wasn't true so I really dont understand why you keep saying you've talked to local PD, other people in town that have had tint done at your shop have had the same issue and had to remove it. I had the tint removed but due to the strong adhesive left behind, it scratched my windows when attempting to remove it, which is whatever, I dont mind replacing the glass, at the end of the day most of my issues are my own fault, stemming from getting the fronts done in the first place. Then upon having my windows replaced at my own cost, they discovered the weather stripping on the inside of the window channels had been damaged from the installation. It's a whole lot more cost if you start getting tickets or have bad luck with the removal of the tint. I'm sure your shops vinyl work is very good, and I'd gladly send vinyl business your way, tint as well but with a legal disclaimer of course. However, there seems to be a pretty big disconnect between your shop and local PD, because none of the officers have corroborated your story, and I was luckily let off with 2 warnings but the second time was the last warning I was going to get, after that, I was told the fines were going to be substantial because I already received two warnings. I do feel bad for leaving the 2 stars but I'm definitely feeling cross about the whole situation, as I'm out almost $800 for new windows and installation. Which again, isn't a big deal because ultimately its my fault, but the fines would have been stacking up if I left it tinted.
