We were assigned Affordable Towing and Auto Sales through our Volkswagen Roadside Assistance program. We called the tow in at 5:30 pm. At 6:30 pm, I got a call from an employee saying they were busy and would be over to pick up our car soon. He also tried insisting that he update the VW service link to show that the job was completed otherwise we would continue to get text updates until they showed up. Sure enough, I got a text message from VW asking if our job had been completed. By 8:30, we hadn’t heard anything so I called and, again, was told that they were busy and they’d be at our house within an hour. Again, waited an hour and no call, no show. At 9:30 pm, the VW Roadside Assistant called to see if we’d received help and I told her no. She called and they told her it would be another 50 minutes. At that point, we cancelled our service request with them and asked to be assigned to someone else. Thank goodness we were able to get my car home, or I would’ve been waiting 4+ hours for a tow on the side of the road. From the first phone call, the whole situation seemed shady and just didn’t sit right with me. I don’t think they were interested in taking the job and they should’ve declined it in the first place.
