Having the courtesy car option is a game changer for me. Not being in a position to have a third vehicle of my own makes taking the time to get my van fixed, when it needs to be done, possible.

Edit: they acknowledged a billing “error” and reduced the diagnostic charge to $73 and offered a refund for that portion. My daughter goes to Pitt State. I live 3 hours away. She called and said her car wouldn’t start. I suspected battery, but she couldn’t get it to jump start so she had it towed to Neptune Auto Repair. The next day after doing a FULL inspection on the vehicle, they sent a $4000 estimate for routine maintenance items. Note: this is a 2016 car with 93,000 miles on it. It’s in good shape, most of these things wouldn’t even be due if you were strictly following the manufacturer’s maintenance intervals. And yes, it was the battery. They did the battery and an oil change, charged $120 to “diagnose” the battery, and $27 for “shop supplies”. So $402 later she got her car back. It’s obvious they were trying to take advantage of a naive college girl. These people are not trustworthy people. Don’t send your daughter there!

Tad, I contacted you by phone this morning and apologized for a billing error on your daughters invoice but you were not willing to listen to an explanation so I will provide it here. Your daughter was inadvertently overcharged for her diagnostic which has been corrected to 72.95 from 121.58. I apologize for that error. We left her a message this morning that she can come in to the shop for the refund. Her bill included the diag charge, 168.35 for the battery and installation, 89.95 for synthetic oil change, and 23.85 for shop supplies. Total is $350.95 which is a competitive price for these services. In terms of her courtesy check and future recommendations, her car has 93,514 miles. Future recommendations were manufacturers intervals for 100,000 miles. Our customers get a free courtesy check and estimates of what these future services may cost. We did not provide any of the repairs nor did we charge her for these items. She has a rear shock that is leaking and rear brakes are at a 2 that you did not wish to repair. If I brought my car to a shop, I would most certainly appreciate being made aware of future problems that could cause a breakdown. I'm sorry if this offended you and as I stated above, we could have had a conversation and cleared everything up over the phone.
